Taiparoro
"Taiparoro"

Location: Otumoetai, Tauranga.
"Taiparoro" was built in 1882. It stands on the harbour
end of Fifth Avenue above Devonport Road. Today it is
used as a Heritage Bed and Breakfast establishment,
serving Kiwi Hospitality in a 19th Century Colonial setting.

"Maungawhare" built in 1878, still stands on a ridge at Otumoetai
not far from "Woodhill", in Parkvale Road off
Grange Road. The grounds are open every day
except Wednesday and Public Holidays.

Location: Waihi.
This concrete pumphouse is the only building from the old-time mining to remain on Martha Hill, scene of the richest goldmine in New Zealand, 1890 - 1953.
It pumped a continuous 75,000 gallons (or 328,750 litres) per hour.
